About Hold The Line Coalition

We are a diverse, non-partisan group of organizations and individuals dedicated to preserving a livable South Florida by protecting green space, limiting sprawl, and encouraging smart development.

These goals are made possible keeping the Urban Development Boundary in place and directing investments to our local neighborhoods.

Our Mission & Goals

To continue building a network of people with diverse interests who share the goals of the campaign—to protect the Miami-Dade Urban Development Boundary.

The campaign goal is to persuade decision makers to maintain the current growth boundary (Hold The Line) until existing infrastructure needs are funded and implemented. More specifically to:

Stop unnecessary and harmful development outside of the Urban Development Boundary ("The Line").

Preserve agriculture and wetlands in a buffer that surrounds the county to ensure we are protected from the impacts of climate change and preserve the natural resources our neighborhoods depend on.

Organize a diverse coalition capable of mobilizing residents for important votes and hearings; holding demonstrations and events and educating commissioners, county staff and the public on the critical importance of sustainable growth and land management.

Build resources (tools and funds) capable of challenging bad decisions, such as the proposed South Dade Logistics and Technology District industrial complex and the 836 extension (both with devastating effects to the Everglades and surrounding communities).
